Moonee Ponds Cricket ClubWe have been enjoying good numbers to our regular Thursday night training sessions at Ravenhall Indoor Centre, and the hard work is showing.
We have two lanes for two hours, starting at 6:00pm and finishing at 8:00pm.
The address is Unit 2/56 Barretta Rd, Ravenhall.
Outdoor training dates yet to be announced, but we will continue the indoor sessions until the end of September, so get there and get ready!
The Committee would like to formally announce the appointment of Patrick (Dids) Didham as the captain of the 1st XI. Dids has been playing senior cricket with us since he was 11 years old and has always been a prodigious talent, skippering junior sides with great maturity through to the U17.5s where he made hundred after hundred.
Dids, over the past 4 years has been under the wing of Adam White as an opening bat. In this time every season has seen great improvement, culminating in Did’s best season to date, which was the one just finished.
A classy left-handed bat and gun fielder that bowls left arm donkey drops, last year saw Dids stand up as a leader.
We are super proud and wish him well in his first year as Skipper.
The Committee would like to formally announce the appointment of Rob Turnbull as Club Coach. Rob has a wonderful resume highlighted by his stint at Northcote in the 1st XI as an all-rounder that saw him selected for the Victorian Cricket Team when an unfortunate back injury intervened.
Rob has spent the last 26 years in England and has been a professional cricketer where he modestly boasts 38 centuries.
We are very excited to have you on board, Rob. We wish you well and can’t wait to see what the future has in store under your leadership.
Julian Hinton made is debut for Melbourne 4ths and made 5 before getting a low ball and given lbw Melbourne 6/144 defeated St Kilda 141
Umar Mahood played in Greenvale 4ths taking 1/28 of six. Melbourne Uni 3/120 defeated Greenvale 119.
Amy Hoang played in EMP thirds and bowled 0/10 off 4 overs in Emp 6/235 defeated Box Hill 127
